 Kay discussed what is involved in a Human Resources Assessment, what questions are asked and what you learn about the risk factors that could put your business in jeopardy.  You learn which California labor laws apply to your business and you make decisions about how you are going to address the risks and make sure you are in compliance.  Employers who only have one employee are subject to wage and hour laws and at least a dozen other requirements.  Be proactive!  There are no negative effects of getting good advice.  You can’t know what you don’t know and what you don’t know can hurt you.

Nick discussed how Paychex helps small and large businesses to process payrolls, pay payroll taxes and administer payroll-related benefits such as 401(k) deductions and health plan deductions.  He noted that 40% of Paychex clients have between 1 and 4 employees, with special programs for Officer-only clients and S Corporations.  Paychex prides itself on integrity, is bonded, and uses state-of-the-art security systems to ensure the storage and transmittal of sensitive payroll information.
